Breathwork is an active, therapeutic meditation that helps clear stuck trauma and emotions in our bodies.

Reiki is a healing modality used to promote emotional and physical healing through universal life force energy.

Yoga is a spiritual, mental, and physical practice used to promote healing of the body, mind, and soul.

Breathwork

What tradition does this come from? This is an active 3-part pranayama technique focused on breathing through the mouth. Pranayama (prana meaning vital life force, and yama meaning expansion/regulation/control) is an ancient practice central to many cultures and regions.

What does it look like? We will start by talking about your goals and intentions for the session, and (if its your first time) what you might expect from the experience. We will do 20 - 30 minutes of active breathwork. This isn't a simple breathing technique, it is active work and can cause emotional and physical discomfort. I will guide you through the entire experience, utilizing a variety of tools to support your journey. You may experience cramping, shaking, crying, temperature changes, etc. Through the breath we can feel where physical, emotional, and spiritual blockages are being held. After the active breath, we will ground for at least 20 minutes.

What are the benefits? This practice can bring spiritual, emotional, and physical clarity and healing. It allows us to tap into body awareness and help clear stuck trauma and emotions in the body. Many people experience cathartic release, and it may be helpful for people who are processing grief or anger. Breathwork promotes the reduction of stress, anxiety, and depression. It may increase energy levels and improve sleep. Research shows that breathwork is also beneficial for the immune system, increasing oxygen levels in the blood.

Reiki

What tradition does this come from? Reiki is a Japanese-based energy healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress and anxiety. Rei means "higher power or God's wisdom," and Ki is life force energy, creating Reiki, meaning spiritually guided life force energy. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or "laying hands."

What does it look like? We will begin with a brief check-in to discuss how you’re feeling and any specific areas you’d like to focus on. You’ll remain fully clothed and lie down in a comfortable position. I’ll place my hands lightly on or just above your body, moving through different positions to support energetic balance. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive practice that simply invites the recipient to relax and receive. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn from and use Reiki.

What are the benefits? Reiki can support you by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and alleviating symptoms to enhance your overall health and well-being. For some, it may bring on a meditative state, aid in relieving depression, pain or tension. Reiki can help shift the body out of a fight-or-flight state by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. It may also stimulate your body's immune system, and aid in fostering tissue and bone healing. Overall, many people report feeling calm, peaceful, and sometimes even a warm or tingling sensation as the energy flows.

Yoga

What tradition does this come from? Yoga has been practiced across the world since ancient times. Traditions like Kemetic Yoga in Africa, Kinam in Mexico, and the widely known practices from India reflect the diverse cultural roots of this practice.

What does it look like? Yoga is accessible to people of all ages and abilities. The foundation of yoga is pranayama (breathwork) synchronized with movement. I specialize in gentle beginner yoga, chair yoga for seniors, and trauma-informed yoga. Yoga sessions are available for individuals or groups and can be tailored to meet your specific needs and intentions.

What are the benefits? Yoga offers a wide range of benefits for the body, mind, and spirit. Physically, it can improve flexibility, strength, balance, and overall mobility while relieving tension and supporting joint and cardiovascular health. Mentally, yoga can aid in reducing stress, increasing focus, and promoting emotional clarity. It also supports nervous system regulation, helping the body shift out of fight-or-flight and into a more grounded, restful state. With consistent practice, yoga can serve as a powerful tool for cultivating presence, resilience, and a deeper connection to self.

“I walked into my breathwork session with Esther not really knowing what to expect. But what happened in that session shifted something in me that years of talk therapy hadn't been able to touch.”

My favorite part was the release I felt and our reflection after... Overall, this was humbling for me and I can see myself referring back to this experience as I continue my healing journey. I truly appreciate Esther's knowledge, her attentiveness, and ability to personalize the experience to make me feel most comfortable.
